The mission of the Sandra and Arnold Gold Humanism Research Fund is to stimulate, support and disseminate research that investigates the impact of humanistic practices on healthcare and health professions education. The Fund will focus on research designs in which relationships, respect and caring play a significant treatment role. Projects selected for grants will have the goal of improved patient experiences that lead to efficient, cost effective, and optimal healthcare results.

The Fund is a 501(c)(3) corporation, founded in 2018 in memory of Arnold P. Gold, M.D.

The Case for Establishing The Sandra and Arnold Gold Humanism Research Fund

Priorities for Grant Allocation

The priorities of The Fund dictate grant allocation. In addition, there will be a special focus on the current Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) epidemic and evidence of the rising number of deaths due to drug overdose.
